DJI Avata 2 Bottom Shell Replacement
The bottom shell takes the hit on every hard landing. Once it cracks the Avata 2's sensors and board are exposed. We fit a new bottom underbody shell, inspect the internals and flight test the drone. It costs £109.99, takes typically 3-7 days and is covered by our 12-month warranty. Post it in or drop it at our London workshop by appointment.

Signs your Avata 2 needs this
- Cracks, splits or a broken piece on the underside of the body
- Downward sensors or the underbody no longer sit flush

- Remove the damaged bottom shell and inspect the board and sensors above it
- Fit the new underbody shell and reseat any internal parts
- Check the downward sensors are clean and aligned
- Calibrate the IMU, compass and gimbal, run a full hover and function test on the Avata 2, then send it back tracked with photos of the work.

Is a cracked bottom shell a big problem on a Avata 2?
It can be. The underside protects the board and downward sensors, so a crack lets in grit and moisture and can upset positioning when landing.
Will my downward sensors still work afterwards?
Yes. We check they are clean, aligned and working as part of the flight test before the drone goes back.
Can I replace the top and bottom shells together?
Yes. Tick both repairs on this page and every additional repair in the same order is 10% off.
Can I add other repairs to the same order?
Yes. Bottom shell replacement is already ticked for you above, and you can tick anything else your Avata 2 needs in the same order. The most expensive job is full price and every extra repair or upgrade is 10% off.

Yes. Every repair and upgrade we carry out on a drone comes with a 12-month warranty from our London workshop, and we send photos or video of the finished work before it ships back to you.
