- Check the gimbal motors, arms and ribbon cable for what is causing the overload
- Clear any obstruction and straighten or replace the bent or damaged gimbal parts
- Refit the gimbal so every axis moves freely through its full range
- Calibrate the IMU, compass and gimbal, run a full hover and function test on the Mini 3, then send it back tracked with photos of the work.

What does error 40002 mean on a Mini 3?
It is DJI's gimbal motor overload warning. The motor is pushing against something it cannot move, usually a stuck, bent or obstructed gimbal, and it is not fixed by a software update.
Can error 40002 fix itself?
Sometimes it clears once a gimbal guard or debris is removed and the drone is restarted on level ground. If it comes back, the gimbal is physically damaged and running it overloaded can burn out a motor, so stop powering it on and send it in.
Will I need a whole new gimbal and camera?
Not always. We repair the stuck part first. If the camera or gimbal is beyond repair we quote for a gimbal and camera replacement before doing any extra work.
Can I add other repairs to the same order?
Yes. Gimbal stuck (error 40002) is already ticked for you above, and you can tick anything else your Mini 3 needs in the same order. The most expensive job is full price and every extra repair or upgrade is 10% off.
