How it works

Five steps, start to finish. You always know where your MacBook is and what happens next.

  1. Pick your model and the problem

    Find your MacBook by the A-number on its underside and tell us what it's doing. You see the fixed price straight away.

  2. Book and send it in

    Mail it in from anywhere in the UK with a prepaid Royal Mail QR label (nothing to print, post it at any Post Office), or drop it at our SE15 workshop by appointment. London courier collection is coming soon.

  3. We check it in and confirm the fault

    We test it when it arrives. If it needs something different from what you booked, we quote that first and do nothing until you say yes.

  4. Repair and test, with photos and videos

    We fit the part and test it before it goes anywhere, and send you photos and videos of the work, so you see what we see.

  5. Tracked back to you

    It comes back tracked, with a 12-month warranty on parts and labour.

How much is a MacBook Pro 16 M2 keyboard replacement?

£250.99 for model A2780, including the keyboard and the strip-down. You can add battery replacement, screen replacement, trackpad replacement to the same order for 10% off each extra repair.

Can you fix just one key?

If a keycap has only popped off and its clip is intact, it may just need refitting: say so in your order notes and we will check before replacing anything. Once the switch under the key has failed, the keyboard has to be replaced.

Why does a keyboard replacement take longer than other repairs?

On most MacBooks the keyboard is fixed into the top case with rivets, so it means taking the whole machine apart. We would rather take the time than rush it.

Hur får jag min MacBook Pro 16 M2 till dig?

Post it to us from anywhere in the UK: add a prepaid Royal Mail label at checkout and you get a QR code to show at any Post Office, so there is nothing to print. A MacBook always goes as a Medium parcel; pack it in a padded box with at least 5 cm of padding all round and leave the charger at home unless we ask for it. We post it back tracked. In London you can also drop it off at our workshop by appointment.

Is the keyboard replacement covered by a warranty?

Yes: a 12-month warranty on parts and labour, the same as every OG Repairs repair. The warranty covers the work we did and the parts we fitted; it does not cover new accidental or liquid damage, or normal battery wear over time.

Will I lose my data, and do you need my password?

A repair like this does not touch your files, and for most hardware repairs we do not need your password: Apple Diagnostics runs before anyone signs in. Back up with Time Machine before you send it anyway, as you would before any repair. If a test ever needs a login, we ask you to set up a temporary account rather than share yours.
