How much does a PS5 HDMI port repair cost?
At OG Repairs a PS5 HDMI port repair is £74.99 for the original PS5, £74.99 for the PS5 Slim and £89.99 for the PS5 Pro. That fixed price covers diagnosis, a new HDMI port, the board around it checked and a 4K picture test. The bench time is 2-3 hours, with a 12-month warranty.
Key facts
- PS5 HDMI port repairs are a fixed price per model, shown before you book. Disc and Digital Edition consoles cost the same.
- The same job is £74.99 on an Xbox Series X and £69.99 on an Xbox Series S.
- If the HDMI chip behind the HDMI port has failed instead, we tell you what it needs and what it costs before any work starts.
- Standard turnaround is 1-3 working days once the console is with us. Same day is possible with our priority service.
- No fix, no fee, and a 12-month warranty. Console repairs are UK only: London drop-off by appointment or UK mail-in.

What's included in the price?
- Diagnosis before any work starts, included when you go ahead.
- The damaged HDMI port removed from the mainboard.
- The pads and tracks around it checked, and repaired if they've lifted.
- A brand-new HDMI port soldered in.
- The picture tested across resolutions, including 4K.
- Photos or video of the work on request, and a 12-month warranty.
When does the price change?
Only when the diagnosis finds something the HDMI port repair doesn't cover. The usual one is the HDMI encoder chip behind the HDMI port, which can fail after a power surge or hot-plugging. A PS5 someone else has already worked on can need more board work. Either way, you get the price before we start.
From the sofa, a damaged HDMI port and a failed chip look the same: no signal. A loose plug, bent pins or a picture that cuts out when the cable moves points at the HDMI port. No signal on every TV and every cable, with an HDMI port that looks perfect, points at the chip. That's why every job starts with a diagnosis.
How long does a PS5 HDMI repair take?
The repair itself takes 2-3 hours on the bench. Standard turnaround is 1-3 working days once your PS5 is with us, whether you drop it off in London or post it in. Same day is possible with our priority service for a fee, depending on the fault, parts and how busy we are, so ask the team when you book.
Posting it? Add the time in the post both ways. A prepaid Royal Mail tracked label at checkout arrives as a QR code you show at any Post Office counter, so there's nothing to print, and the console comes back to you tracked, free. When the workshop is very busy a repair can take up to 7-10 working days, and we'll tell you if that's the case.
Can I still use my PS5 while I wait?
Not on a TV. HDMI is the PS5's only video output, and the USB-C sockets don't carry a picture. If Remote Play was already switched on, you can try streaming to a phone, PC or PlayStation Portal while you wait. If the HDMI port is loose, stop plugging cables in and out: every move can lift the pads underneath.
Check these before you pay for anything
- Swap the HDMI cable for one you know works, ideally the one that came with the console. A faulty cable is a common cause of no signal.
- Try a different HDMI input on the TV, or a different TV or monitor.
- With the PS5 off, hold the power button until the second beep to start Safe Mode, connect the controller with a USB cable and choose Change Video Output. If a picture comes back, the HDMI port may be fine.
- A light that stays blue and never turns white is usually not HDMI. Sony describes it as the console freezing during start-up, which tends to be software, storage or power.
Where can I get a PS5 HDMI port fixed?
At our workshop at Unit 9, Hatcham Road, London SE15 1TR, about 10 minutes' walk from South Bermondsey station. Visits are by appointment, so book a free drop-off slot first and pay when you collect.
Anywhere else in the UK, book online and post it in. Console repairs are a UK service, so we can't accept consoles posted from abroad.
