About this repair
This upgrade swaps the stock analogue sticks in your Joy-Con for TMR anti-drift modules before drift sets in. TMR sticks read the stick position magnetically, so there is no contact track to wear out. Choose the left, right or both Joy-Con above for £34.99. Typical repair time is same day (once received) once it is on our bench. Covered by our 12-month repair warranty.
Signs you need this repair
- Your Joy-Con works now but you have had drift on a previous one
- You want a stick that will not drift from contact wear
- Your current sticks feel loose or less precise than they did
What causes it
- Standard analogue sticks read position through a resistive contact track that wears with use
- Dust and debris getting inside the stick housing
- Drops and knocks that damage the stick module
How we fix it
- We open your Joy-Con and confirm which stick is drifting
- The stock stick module is removed and a TMR anti-drift module is fitted
- The sticks are calibrated so centre and full travel read correctly
- We test every direction before it goes back to you
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I tell it is drift and not the game?
Open a menu or a stick test with your hands off the Joy-Con. If the cursor or reading moves on its own, the stick is drifting.
Will recalibrating fix stick drift?
It can hide light drift for a while, but a worn stick keeps getting worse. Replacing the stick module is the lasting fix.
Do I have to send both?
No problem. Choose the left, right or both Joy-Con on this page and send in only what needs the work.
Why TMR instead of a standard stick?
TMR (tunnelling magnetoresistance) sensors read the stick position magnetically, with no contact track to wear. That removes the usual cause of drift rather than resetting the clock on it.
How long will the repair take?
We aim to complete repairs as safely and as soon as possible, however note it can take up to 3-5 days or longer depending on parts availability. When we're busy, a repair or upgrade can be delayed by up to 7-10 working days - we do everything we can to avoid that and keep you updated.
How do I send my console in?
As soon as you have completed your order we will send you a confirmation email. In the UK that includes your prepaid tracked label (if you chose one at checkout) - a QR code to use at your local Post Office. Outside the UK we send our workshop address and shipping instructions so you can post your console in. Once repaired, we ship it back to you tracked at no charge - UK and international.
Is there a warranty?
We offer a 12 month warranty on all repairs carried out at OG Repairs.
Can you repair a modified console?
Yes, let's see what's possible.
Do you send proof of the repair?
Yes - we send photos and a before/after video showing the fault fixed, so you can be confident in the work before your device is even back in your hands.
Can I drop it off in person?
Yes - book a drop-off at our London workshop (Unit 9, Hatcham Road, London, SE15 1TR); visits are by appointment. Console repairs are a UK-only service, so mail-in is available from anywhere in the UK.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major cards, plus Klarna, Clearpay, Apple Pay and Google Pay - so you can spread the cost with interest-free instalments.
