Short battery life is the DualSense Edge's best-known weakness: teardowns show Sony fitted a 1050mAh battery, smaller than the standard DualSense's 1560mAh. Our upgrade replaces it with a 4000mAh battery fitted inside the controller, nearly four times the stock capacity, so you play much longer between charges. Why does the DualSense Edge battery run out so fast?
Sony fitted the Edge with a 1050mAh battery, smaller than the standard DualSense's 1560mAh, to make room for its extra features in the same shape, and said the Edge would have shorter battery life as a result. The 4000mAh upgrade fixes that at the source.
How much longer will my Edge last on a charge?
The 4000mAh battery has nearly four times the capacity of the stock one, so you get much longer sessions between charges. Exact hours depend on haptics, trigger effects, lightbar brightness and the game, so we do not quote a fixed figure.
Will my back buttons, stick modules and trigger stops still work?
Yes. The battery is fitted inside the controller and everything else on the Edge works as before. We test the back buttons and both stick modules before it ships.
Does a bigger battery change how the controller feels?
It adds some weight, which most people do not notice in play. Everything else on the DualSense Edge works as before.
Does it charge with the same cable?
Yes, through the same USB-C port. A larger battery takes longer to fill.

Mail it in from anywhere: UK orders can include a prepaid tracked label, and international customers get our workshop address and packing instructions by email. We send it back tracked at no extra charge. In the UK you can also drop it off at our London workshop by appointment.
Is the 4000mAh battery upgrade covered by a warranty?
Yes. Every repair and upgrade we carry out on a controller comes with a 12-month warranty from our London workshop, and we send photos or video of the finished work before it ships back to you.
