PS5 Pro completely dead, beeping once then nothing, or switching itself straight off? We find out whether it's the internal power supply or a fault on the board, fix it, and test it properly before it comes back.
Signs your PS5 Pro needs a no-power repair
- No lights, no fan, no response at all
- One beep when you press the button, then nothing
- Lights up for a second or two, then shuts down
- Dead after a power cut or a surge
What we do
- Test the power supply on its own first, then the board, so you only pay for the real fault.
- A failed power supply is replaced with a quality part.
- A short on the board is traced and repaired at board level by our specialist board technician.
- The console is tested before it goes back. Photos or video of the work on request.
Diagnosis comes first: go ahead with the repair and it's included (no fix, no fee). If it isn't worth fixing, we tell you before any work starts. Before you book, try a different wall socket without an extension lead, and a different power lead.
The PS5 Pro has its own board and power supply, so it's priced as its own repair. Standard PS5? Book the PS5 no power repair. Symptoms, checks and every console's price: PS5 won't turn on: no power repair.
No-power repairs usually take 3 to 5 working days with our specialist board technician. 12-month warranty on the repair.
Drop off at our London workshop: by appointment (UK).
Mail in from anywhere in the UK: pay online, add a prepaid Royal Mail label at checkout and show the QR code at any Post Office (nothing to print). Returned tracked, free.
About this repair
If your PS5 Pro shows no lights and no response, or turns on and straight off again, the cause is usually the power supply or a short on the motherboard. We find which it is, then replace the supply with a quality part or carry out the board-level repair for £149.99. Typical repair time is 3 to 5 working days once it is on our bench. The repair is covered by our 12-month repair warranty.
Signs you need this repair
- No power, no lights, no response
- Turns off immediately after starting
- Power cycles but will not stay on
- No beep or sign of life when you press the power button
What causes it
- A failed power supply, often after a power surge or simply with age
- A shorted component on the board pulling the supply down
- Liquid or physical damage to the power circuit
How we fix it
- We check the power supply and the board to find the cause
- If the supply has failed, we fit a quality replacement
- If something on the board has shorted, we find the failed part and replace it
- We power it up and test it before it goes back to you
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I check before sending it in?
Try a different wall socket and power cable, and hold the power button for a few seconds. If there is still no light or beep, it is an internal fault.
Is it the power supply or the motherboard?
It can be either. Most no-power faults are a failed supply that needs replacing, or a short on the board that needs board-level repair. We find out which before any work starts.
What if it turns out to be unrepairable?
We tell you what we found before doing anything. You only go ahead with a repair you have agreed to.
How long will the repair take?
We aim to complete repairs as safely and as soon as possible, however note it can take up to 3-5 days or longer depending on parts availability. When we're busy, a repair or upgrade can be delayed by up to 7-10 working days - we do everything we can to avoid that and keep you updated.
How do I send my console in?
As soon as you have completed your order we will send you a confirmation email. In the UK that includes your prepaid tracked label (if you chose one at checkout) - a QR code to use at your local Post Office. Outside the UK we send our workshop address and shipping instructions so you can post your console in. Once repaired, we ship it back to you tracked at no charge - UK and international.
Is there a warranty?
We offer a 12 month warranty on all repairs carried out at OG Repairs.
Can you repair a modified console?
Yes, let's see what's possible.
Do you send proof of the repair?
Yes - we send photos and a before/after video showing the fault fixed, so you can be confident in the work before your device is even back in your hands.
Can I drop it off in person?
Yes - book a drop-off at our London workshop (Unit 9, Hatcham Road, London, SE15 1TR); visits are by appointment. Console repairs are a UK-only service, so mail-in is available from anywhere in the UK.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major cards, plus Klarna, Clearpay, Apple Pay and Google Pay - so you can spread the cost with interest-free instalments.
