Which MacBook is it?
Choose the series first, then the exact model.
How it works
Five steps, start to finish. You always know where your MacBook is and what happens next.
Pick your model and the problem
Find your MacBook by the A-number on its underside and tell us what it's doing. You see the fixed price straight away.
Book and send it in
Mail it in from anywhere in the UK with a prepaid Royal Mail QR label (nothing to print, post it at any Post Office), or drop it at our SE15 workshop by appointment. London courier collection is coming soon.
We check it in and confirm the fault
We test it when it arrives. If it needs something different from what you booked, we quote that first and do nothing until you say yes.
Repair and test, with photos and videos
We fit the part and test it before it goes anywhere, and send you photos and videos of the work, so you see what we see.
Tracked back to you
It comes back tracked, with a 12-month warranty on parts and labour.
How long it takes
Most repairs take 2 to 3 working days once we have your MacBook; screens and keyboards take 3 to 5. A diagnostic takes 1 to 2 working days, then we quote. Same day is only possible with our paid priority service.
Before you send it
- Back it up with Time Machine or iCloud. Most repairs never touch your files, but a backup costs nothing.
- Keep your password to yourself: we don't need it for most repairs. If a test needs a login, we ask you to set up a temporary account.
- Leave Find My on. We only ask you to turn it off for logic board, storage or erase work, and we tell you first.
- Take off any case, cover or keyboard skin, and leave the charger at home unless we ask for it.
- Pack it in a padded box with at least 5 cm of padding all round.
Signs you need a new screen
- Cracked glass, or a black ink-like patch spreading across the picture
- Lines, bands or coloured blocks that stay put
- Dead pixels, bright spots or flickering
- Black screen while an external monitor works
How we replace it
- We confirm the fault with an external monitor, so we know the panel is the problem
- We fit a display assembly made for your model's A-number
- We test brightness, colour, every pixel, the camera and the lid sensor
- We send you photos of the finished screen before it ships back

Frequently Asked Questions
My screen goes dark when I open the lid wide. Do I need a new screen?
On a 2016 or 2017 MacBook Pro (A1706, A1707, A1708) that is usually Flexgate, a worn backlight cable, which is a cheaper repair than a new screen. On other models, book a diagnostic and we find the cause first.
Why are some MacBook screens dearer than others?
The display assembly is the most expensive part in a MacBook, and the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro displays cost the most. Every price on this page includes the part, fitting and testing.
Which MacBook do I have?
Turn it over: the model number starts with A and is printed in the small text near the hinge (for example A2337 is the M1 MacBook Air). If it turns on, the Apple menu, then About This Mac, shows the name and year, such as MacBook Air (M2, 2022). Type the A-number into the model finder above and it takes you straight to your model.
How long does a MacBook repair take?
Most repairs take 2 to 3 working days once we have your MacBook; screens and keyboards take 3 to 5 working days, and a diagnostic takes 1 to 2 working days before we quote. Same day is only possible with our paid priority service, so ask before you book if you need it fast.
What warranty do I get?
A 12-month warranty on parts and labour, the same as every OG Repairs repair. It covers the work we did and the parts we fitted; it does not cover new accidental or liquid damage, or normal battery wear over time.
How do I post my MacBook to you?
Book the repair and add a prepaid Royal Mail label at checkout: you get a QR code to show at any Post Office, so there is nothing to print. A MacBook always goes as a Medium parcel. Pack it in a padded box with at least 5 cm of padding all round, and leave the charger at home unless we ask for it. We send it back tracked.
Do you need my password, and will I lose my data?
For most hardware repairs we do not need your password: Apple Diagnostics runs before anyone signs in, and repairs like screens and batteries do not touch your files. Back up with Time Machine before you send it anyway. If a test ever needs a login, we ask you to set up a temporary account rather than share yours.
What if you can't fix it?
No fix, no fee: if we cannot complete a fixed-price repair, you do not pay for it. Faults we cannot price up front (logic board, liquid damage, data recovery, SSD) start with a £49.99 diagnostic and a fixed quote, and nothing is done without your OK. If you go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee comes off its price.
Do you collect from London addresses?
Courier collection across London is coming soon. For now, post it to us with a prepaid label from anywhere in the UK, or drop it off at our workshop in SE15 by appointment.
What our repair customers say
Real Google reviews from people whose consoles and controllers we've repaired. MacBook repairs are new here, so there are no MacBook reviews yet, and we won't make any up.
- Rob Durkin★★★★★
Was suffering from stick drift on my PS5 controller so sent it in to OG Repairs for an upgrade to the TMR Gulikit sticks. Photos showing the upgrades, a video pre-upgrade confirming stick drift, then a video post-upgrade showing it was gone. Very impressed and will return.
- D1★★★★★
Quick repair - the DualSense comes back with a second life! Love them sharing photos and videos about the repair as well. Thanks OG Repairs.
- Sarah W★★★★★
Absolutely quality repair team. They were quick and efficient with the way they repaired my controller. The video and picture of it being repaired was also a nice touch - definitely would choose them again.
