All Nintendo Switch Pro Controller repairs · TMR vs Hall effect vs stock sticks, explained
Deep Clean is a clean, not a repair: full strip-down, ultrasonic clean of the shell, buttons and sticks, sanitised and rebuilt. No parts fitted and no fault fixed - tick it alongside a repair to get both done in one go. Same turnaround as the repair.

What causes controller stick drift?
Most stick drift is wear. Standard controller sticks measure position with a carbon track and a metal wiper; as the track wears or gets dirty, the reading at rest stops being centred and the controller registers movement nobody made. Cleaning helps for a while, but only contactless TMR or Hall effect sticks remove the wear.
Signs your Switch Pro Controller needs this
- The stick registers movement while you are not touching it
- Aim or camera slowly pulls in one direction
- Menus scroll by themselves
- The stick does not return cleanly to centre
What causes it
- The Switch Pro Controller's stock sticks are potentiometers: a wiper on a carbon track that wears with every movement
- Dust and grime inside the stick housing
- Drops or knocks that bend the stick mechanism
How we fix it
- Open the Switch Pro Controller and test both sticks to confirm the fault
- Desolder and remove both stick modules
- Fit two new standard analog modules
- Calibrate, rebuild and test every input

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the drift come back?
New standard sticks use the same potentiometer technology as the originals, so like any stock stick they wear over time. If you want a fix that does not wear, choose the TMR upgrade, which uses contactless sensors.
Do you replace one stick or both?
Both. Sticks wear at a similar rate, so replacing one usually means the other drifts soon after.
Can I fix Switch Pro Controller stick drift by cleaning it?
Cleaning can help briefly when dirt is the cause, but worn carbon tracks cannot be cleaned back to new. Replacing the stick is the reliable fix.
Can I get other Switch Pro Controller repairs done at the same time?
Yes. Tick every fix you need on this page and they are done in one visit. The dearest one is full price and every extra one in the same order is 10% off. Popular add-ons on the Switch Pro Controller include full button & trigger restore, button repair, charging port repair.
How do I get my Switch Pro Controller to you?
Mail it in from anywhere. In the UK, add a prepaid Royal Mail tracked label at checkout: you get a QR code to show at any Post Office, so there is nothing to print. Outside the UK we email our workshop address and packing instructions. We send it back tracked at no extra charge. In the UK you can also drop it off at our London workshop by appointment.
What if you can't fix my Switch Pro Controller?
No fix, no fee. If we can't fix it, you don't pay for the repair: a fixed-price repair paid at checkout is refunded in full, and you get your Switch Pro Controller back.
Is the stick drift repair covered by a warranty?
Yes. Every repair and upgrade we carry out on a controller comes with a 12-month warranty from our London workshop, and we send photos or video of the finished work before it ships back to you.
